PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT OPPORTUNITIES

The Bossier Parish School Board recognizes that a program of professional development and education is important for the constant professional growth and improvement of an employee.  Therefore, professional personnel shall be encouraged to keep up with new developments and take part in development opportunities in their academic fields and to cultivate an open mind and an experimental attitude toward current educational practices.

The School Board shall direct that a comprehensive system of personnel development be implemented and maintained.  Such opportunities may include the following:  visits to other classrooms and other schools, conferences with other personnel from within and outside the school district, membership in committees and organizations relative to the needs of the school system, staff development within the school district, professional sabbatical leaves, and a library for the professional staff.
